# Preparation guide

## Open and prepare

Medical training and simulation instructors, including Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) instructors, can open this free soundboard in a browser with no account required.

Choose your learning objective and audio cues. Connect the device to the intended speaker, check an appropriate training volume, and confirm that audio cues will not obscure instructor or safety communications.

## Stage and trigger sounds

Tap a library sound once to add it to the soundboard. The board holds up to six sounds. Adding another when full replaces the oldest staged sound, so prepare the required set deliberately.

Tap a staged sound to play it. Tap again to stop ordinary playback; some sounds ask for confirmation before stopping. M4 Single Shot is a rapid-fire cue: each tap starts a fresh shot rather than toggling stop.

Sounds marked with the infinity symbol loop. One-shot sounds play once. Several staged sounds can play at the same time, so a continuous background can accompany a discrete scenario cue.

## Use available options

The staged sound’s menu exposes options supported by that sound. These include muffled audio on selected entries, helicopter fade-in / full volume, numbered Helmet Fire variants, and birds or delayed start for Distant Explosion.

15 SU + 15 ToF is a 30-minute MEDEVAC radio-call sequence: 15-minute spin-up plus 15-minute time of flight. Its menu offers a start-late setting. Treat it as a scenario timing resource, not a clinical protocol.

## Prepare for no signal

While connected, stage the sounds needed on the actual device and allow audio and image downloads to finish. Only prepared sounds should be relied on offline; do not assume every library entry has downloaded.

Check playback before the session. Background audio is supported, but confirm your device/browser and Bluetooth arrangement for the planned exercise. Refreshing the app clears the visible board; recent prepared downloads are retained separately from the visible cards.

## Request an addition

Request sounds through the existing app footer, with a specific description and an example link if you have one. This guide adds no new form or controls to the soundboard.

This is not medical advice. Trauma Lane Soundboard does not claim official endorsement; instructors retain responsibility for training objectives and local procedures.
